The Sealed Self-Retracting Lifeline series of SRL's from Capital Safety are different in having their working components sealed from dirt, debris and humidity. A rubber gasket seals off one side of the housing. This contains the springs, brakes and gears. Only the cable on its reel is potentially exposed to the elements. This has made these a favorite on off-shore oil platforms and other challenging environments. If you intend to leave your SRL out of doors on a continuous basis, we suggest that you seriously consider this type of device.
