The ACD CAL 2000 Electro-Chemical Gas Generator is ACD's top of the line generator. Includes all the flow and concentration adjustments that give the flexibility to tailor a calibration program for whatever gas detection instruments you may have. All CAL 2000 units are CSA* NRTL/C Exia T-6 approved intrinsically safe with CE mark, and are shipped certified as directly traceable to NIST with an accuracy of +/-10% of the gas output concentration. Includes a three foot hose, a nylon carrying case, an instruction manual, and 4 size "C" alkaline batteries. Electro-chemical cells are not included and must be ordered separately. The CAL 2000 from ACD provides unmatched versatility and accuracy in calibration gases, including corrosive types that are otherwise unstable when stored in cylinders. Field replaceable electro-chemical generating cells provide a NIST traceable calibration standard for accurately testing chlorine, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen, hydrogen cyanide, and hydrogen sulfide gas sensors. If you use quantities of any of these gases, the economics and convenience of the CAL 2000 Instrument makes it a great purchase. With a standard 58 liter calibration gas cylinder and a 1 liter-per-minute regulator, you get almost 60 minutes of flow. For most of these gases, that will cost you about $200, and have a shelf life in the 6-12 month range. The CAL 2000 instrument costs $1750, and a 50 hour cell costs $750. All together, this is the equivalent of $50 per cylinder (even less on replacement cells), with no shelf life. Consider also the savings on shipping: HazMat fees for compressed gas cylinders via UPS or FedEx add up quickly. The CAL 2000 and cells may be shipped air freight with no HazMat fee. The CAL 2000 is microprocessor controlled and has an LCD display, allowing field adjustment of the ppm concentration and flow rate. The generating cells are interchangeable and field replaceable. Best of all, the CAL 2000 provides up to 50 times as much calibration gas as a disposable cylinder at approximately the same cost. The electro-chemical generating cells do not degrade over time. The CAL 2000 Gas Generator has a built-in mass flow sensor that automatically compensates for altitude and temperature. The mass flow sensor, combined with the instruments internal pump, provide extreme flexibility for calibrating both diffusion and sample draw detection systems.
