Description
A confined-space entry team is only as ready as the equipment that arrives on-site — and only as protected as the case that got it there.
The WatchGas SST4-PUMP CS Aluminum Case is engineered to carry the complete Confined Space configuration of the SST4-PUMP system in a single grab-and-go package. Custom foam insert holds each item in its own cutout — nothing shifting during transport, nothing knocking against anything else. For field-service crews doing multi-site confined-space work, that's the difference between arriving with a coordinated kit and arriving with a bag of separate items to hunt through.
What fits inside the case:
-
WatchGas SST4-PUMP 4-Gas Detector — the pump-drawn monitor itself
-
SST-DFRPSV Demand Flow Regulator — professional calibration workflow regulator with Pressure Sensor Valve
-
34-liter cal gas cylinder — dedicated foam cutout for one cylinder (cal gas cylinder sold separately)
-
SST-IND-S Induction Cradle Charger — desktop induction cradle for overnight charging
-
SST-BALL-FLOAT — water-intake protection for the sampling tube
-
SST-3X5-LASTOMORE Sampling Tubing — 3x5mm low-adsorption sampling tubing
Aluminum construction, custom foam, professional-grade transport:
Aluminum construction protects a $980+ monitor and its accessories from drops, impacts, dust ingress, and moisture during transport. Custom foam is cut to fit each item's specific shape — no shifting during transport, no compression of vulnerable surfaces like the monitor's display or the regulator's gauge. For field-service crews whose monitors live in a work truck between sites, and for third-party calibration service providers who ship monitors between customers, professional-grade transport is a maintenance-cost decision. The case up-front is materially cheaper than one dropped-and-cracked monitor down the line.
Why the complete-kit configuration matters for OSHA-regulated confined-space entry:
OSHA's permit-required confined space rule (29 CFR 1910.146) requires that atmosphere testing equipment be functional and available at the time of entry. The crew arriving on-site with a working monitor, appropriate cal gas, and complete sampling infrastructure is the compliance baseline. A monitor with a cracked display, a leaking cal gas cylinder valve, or missing sampling tubing can defeat entry compliance before the crew even reaches the space. Kit consolidation reduces the failure modes: everything travels together, and if something is missing, you know it before you leave the depot.
What this case is (and isn't):
-
It IS an aluminum transport case with a custom foam insert engineered specifically for the SST4-PUMP CS (Confined Space) system — the SST4-PUMP monitor and its complete accessory ecosystem.
-
It IS compatible with the entire WatchGas SST4-PUMP CS component set: monitor, DFR regulator, 34L cal gas cylinder, induction cradle charger, ball float, and sampling tubing.
-
It is NOT sized for other WatchGas monitors (SST4-MICRO, SST4-MINI, or SST1 single-gas). The foam cutout is specifically shaped for the SST4-PUMP form factor. For other monitor cases, call PK Safety at 800.829.9580.
-
It is NOT a substitute for the cal gas cylinder, monitor, regulator, or accessories themselves. Each item is sold separately.
-
It is NOT a certified hazmat transport container. For interstate air transport of cal gas cylinders, consult DOT 49 CFR / IATA / IMDG requirements — the cal gas concentration determines whether Excepted Quantities provisions apply.
Key features:
-
Aluminum construction — professional-grade transport protection against drops, impacts, dust, and moisture
-
Custom foam insert — each item in its own cutout; no shifting during transport
-
Complete-kit organization — monitor + regulator + cal gas cylinder + charger + ball float + tubing in a single grab-and-go package
-
Engineered for the SST4-PUMP CS Confined Space configuration — specifically shaped foam cutouts for each item

Frequently Asked Questions
What does 'SST4-PUMP CS' mean, and which items fit inside the case?
'CS' stands for Confined Space — the complete configuration of the SST4-PUMP system designed for OSHA 1910.146 permit-required confined-space entry workflows. The case's custom foam insert has dedicated cutouts for the entire CS component set:
- SST4-PUMP monitor (the pump-drawn 4-gas detector itself)
- SST-DFRPSV Demand Flow Regulator (calibration workflow)
- 34L cal gas cylinder (cal gas sold separately; the case has a dedicated cylinder cutout)
- SST-IND-S induction cradle charger (overnight charging)
- SST-BALL-FLOAT (water-intake protection for the sampling tube)
- SST-3X5-LASTOMORE sampling tubing (3x5mm low-adsorption sample line)
Each accessory is sold separately — the case is engineered to hold them, but you assemble the kit from the individual SKUs. Call PK Safety at 800.829.9580 to quote a complete CS system order.
Is the case included with the SST4-PUMP monitor, or do I buy it separately?
The SST4-PUMP-CSE-CASE is sold separately from the SST4-PUMP monitor and all its accessories. Each item in the CS system is a separate SKU. If you're purchasing an SST4-PUMP monitor and expect a case to be included, verify with your PK Safety rep before ordering — different WatchGas SST4-PUMP configurations may ship with or without the case depending on the package.
For a complete CS system order (monitor + regulator + case + accessories + cal gas cylinder), call PK Safety at 800.829.9580 for a bundled quote.
Can I use this case with a different WatchGas monitor (SST4-MICRO, SST4-MINI, SST5)?
No. The foam insert is custom-cut specifically for the SST4-PUMP form factor and its CS accessory set. The SST4-MICRO and SST4-MINI have different shapes and different accessory ecosystems (diffusion monitors don't need a ball float or sampling tubing, for instance), and the SST5 is a different monitor entirely.
For transport cases for other WatchGas monitors, call PK Safety at 800.829.9580.
Is the case safe for airline or interstate transport of the cal gas cylinder?
Small compressed gas cylinders (34L cal gas cylinders fall in this category) are subject to DOT 49 CFR, IATA (air), and IMDG (sea) transport regulations. Most cal gas concentrations qualify for the Excepted Quantities provisions in 49 CFR 173.4 (small quantity exception), and for airline transport specific IATA Excepted Quantity documentation is required.
The SST4-PUMP-CSE-CASE is engineered as a professional-grade transport case, but it is NOT a certified hazmat transport container. For interstate air transport or ocean shipping of cal gas cylinders, verify with your cal gas supplier that your specific cylinder qualifies for Excepted Quantities transport, and consult a hazmat shipping specialist for documentation and labeling requirements.
For everyday over-the-road transport in a service vehicle (utility truck, service van, fleet vehicle), the case provides appropriate physical protection for normal operational transport.
Is the foam insert washable or replaceable?
Custom foam inserts can typically be cleaned with mild soap and water and air-dried before returning items to the case. For replacement foam inserts (in case of contamination, cal gas exposure damage, or physical wear), call PK Safety at 800.829.9580 — replacement foam is available from WatchGas as a service part.
What are the exterior dimensions of the case?
Exact case dimensions are documented in the WatchGas specification documents. If you need dimensions for fleet vehicle space planning or shelving fit before ordering, call PK Safety at 800.829.9580 and we'll provide the current spec.
Should I add the case to an SST4-PUMP order I've already placed?
Absolutely — the case is a common add-on for SST4-PUMP orders, especially for field-service and multi-site deployment scenarios. Call PK Safety at 800.829.9580 to add it to an in-flight order or to bundle it with a future accessory purchase.
Building an SST4-PUMP CS Confined Space system across a fleet, or ordering a complete-kit case with your first SST4-PUMP purchase? Call PK Safety at 800.829.9580. A person who knows the WatchGas SST4-PUMP CS system, cal gas cylinder specification, and fleet transport logistics will pick up.
