Excessive exposure to sunlight can lead to dry skin, redness, sunburn and even skin cancer. The UVA and UVB rays from the sun damage the cells in your skin. When it comes to sun safety, your business should have safety sunscreen on hand, keeping in mind it’s best to use at least 30 SPF sunscreen. Reapply every 2 hours or 80 minutes when sweating or swimming. You can also reduce your exposure by covering up your skin with a loose-fitting long-sleeve work shirt.

Burn care is important too. If you or a member of your team is exposed to acid, you’ll need to cover the exposed area with a sterile gauze bandage. Keep it loose and avoid putting too much pressure on the exposed area. Wash off the exposed area and reapply new bandages several times until the burning subsides. If a toxic substance gets into your eyes, you’ll need to use an emergency eye wash shower to quickly remove the substance.
