The SST-CAR-CHG uses Qi-certified induction charging — the same industry-standard wireless-charging protocol you find on modern smartphones, laptops, and hospital medical equipment. Qi certification means the charger has been tested and certified by the Wireless Power Consortium to meet safety standards for power transfer efficiency, thermal management, and foreign-object detection. How does the auto-clamping mechanism work — can it damage the monitor?

The auto-clamping cradle uses a spring-loaded mechanism that gently secures the monitor when it's seated in the cradle and releases automatically when the monitor is lifted out. Is this charger safe to leave in a hot vehicle in summer?

Qi-certified chargers include thermal management as part of the certification, and the SST-CAR-CHG's smart protection layer adds overcharge and overheat safeguards on top. That said, extreme cabin temperatures (>140°F / 60°C) are hard on any electronics — the monitor itself as much as the charger — and are best avoided when possible.

Practical guidance: if the truck is parked in direct sun on a hot day, use a sunshade or park in shade when practical. If the monitor is going to sit in the cabin for extended periods in extreme heat, remove it from the cradle. This is the same guidance as for smartphones and other Qi-charged equipment in vehicles.
