Primary Use:
Tyvek material keeps harmful particles (asbestos or lead dust) as well as skin irritants (sanded fiberglass) away from the wearer, making it a popular choice for toxic material abatement and clean-up. It is also used in areas where sewage or other toxic materials may pose health risks to unprotected workers. Tyvek coveralls offers some protection against a "light liquid splash" as long as the liquid is non-toxic. That means it's generally better for dry particle and spray protection. Please note that Tyvek coveralls are industrial protective clothing but are not suitable for clean-room or sterile environments since they do not come pre-sealed. For asbestos and lead clean up, it is advisable to have coverings for your shoes as well as the rest of your body. For this kind of work, please consider the Tyvek TY122S HazMat Coverall Suit 1414.
