Description
The BW XT-XWHM-Y-NA-CS GasAlert Max XT II Complete Confined Space Kit includes the 4-gas detector and every accessory your crew needs to enter confined spaces safely and remain in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146. The kit features remote sampling capability, hydrophobic filter replacements, a calibration gas cylinder, regulator, hose, and a hard-sided carrying case with foam insert for secure transport.
Regulatory Note: Per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146, employers operating permit-required confined spaces must continuously monitor O2, LEL, H2S, and CO before and during entry. Per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1000 Table Z-1, the PEL for CO is 50 ppm; for H2S the ceiling is 20 ppm per Table Z-2.
Max XT II Confined Space Kit Includes:
- GasAlert Max XT II 4-gas detector (H2S, CO, O2, LEL)
- Charging adapter for detector
- Quad-mix calibration gas cylinder
- 0.5 LPM flow regulator
- 3 ft. calibration hose with quick connect
- 10 ft. sampling hose with metallic particulate filter and quick connect
- 5 spare hydrophobic and particulate pump filters
- Sampling probe (GA-PROB1-1)
- Reversible screwdriver
- Hard-sided carrying case with foam insert
Note: This item ships via UPS Ground due to HazMat restrictions and is not available for expedited shipping. Calibration gas is not returnable. Please check your selection carefully before ordering.
Remember to calibrate every six months and regularly perform bump tests before each shift.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the BW XT-XWHM-Y-NA-CS confined space kit include?
The kit includes the GasAlert Max XT II 4-gas detector, charging adapter, quad-mix calibration gas, 0.5 LPM regulator, 3 ft. calibration hose, 10 ft. sampling hose with metallic particulate filter, 5 spare hydrophobic and particulate pump filters, a GA-PROB1-1 sampling probe, reversible screwdriver, and a hard-sided carrying case with foam insert.
What gases does the Max XT II 4-gas detector monitor?
The GasAlert Max XT II monitors H2S (hydrogen sulfide), CO (carbon monoxide), O2 (oxygen), and LEL (combustible gases as percent of lower explosive limit). Per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146, all four of these hazards must be measured before and during permit-required confined space entry.
Does the XT-XWHM-Y-NA-CS ship ground-only due to HazMat restrictions?
Yes. The calibration gas cylinder is classified as a hazardous material and must ship via UPS Ground. Expedited or air freight is not available for this kit. Calibration gas is non-returnable — confirm your order carefully before purchasing. Allow 5–7 business days for ground delivery.
How far can I sample with the 10 ft. sampling hose in this kit?
The included 10 ft. sampling hose with the GasAlert Max XT II SmartSample motorized pump allows you to pre-clear and sample remote confined space atmospheres from a safe standoff position before entry. For longer reach, additional probe and hose extensions are available from PK Safety.
How often should I calibrate the Max XT II detector in this kit?
BW recommends bump testing before every shift and full calibration at least every six months, or more frequently depending on your regulatory program and sensor exposure history. Per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146, confined space programs must maintain calibrated instrumentation. PK Safety can also perform factory-authorized calibration service for you.
Can PK Safety configure custom alarm setpoints on the Max XT II?
Yes. PK Safety is a BW Technologies by Honeywell Factory Authorized Service Center. Our technicians can configure alarm thresholds, sensor settings, and site-specific parameters for your Max XT II fleet before shipment. Call 800.829.9580 for fleet configuration and calibration service details.
