Description
The BW Clip Real Time 2-Year H2S Monitor (BWC2R-H510) is a lightweight and easy to handle single gas detector for hydrogen sulfide with a real-time gas level display and user-calibration capability. Designed for a wide range of harsh environments and extreme temperatures, this H2S monitor has default alarm setpoints at 5 ppm to 10 ppm. It provides two years of maintenance-free operation: just turn on the device, and it runs continuously. There is no need for sensor replacement and battery charging or replacement.
You can also put the device in a BW Clip Hibernation Case when you're not using it, and extend its life by that period of time — great for turnarounds, short-term projects, and employee leave.
It is based on Surecell and Reflex Technology. Surecell is a unique dual reservoir sensor design that dramatically improves instrument performance, response time, and longevity. Reflex Technology is an advanced automated internal test function that routinely checks the operating condition of the sensor to increase safety, uptime, and overall worker confidence.
Key Features:
- Default alarm setpoints: 5–10 ppm
- Alarm setpoints range: 1.6–20 ppm
- Measuring range: 0–100 ppm
- Temperature: -40 to +122°F
- Humidity: 5%–95% RH (non-condensing)
- Event logging: 35 most recent events
- Alarm: visual, vibrating, audible (95 dB), low, high
- Wide-angle flash, which alerts simultaneously with audible and vibrating alarm
- Automated self-test of battery, sensor, and electronics
- Automatic logging of the 35 most recent gas events, bump test and calibration results
- Ingress Protection: IP 66/67
- Battery life: 2 years
- Hibernation capable
- Surecell and Reflex Technology
- Compatible with hands-free Hard Hat Clip carrying accessory
- Certifications: Class I, Div. 1, Gr. A, B, C, D, Class I, Zone 0, Gr. IIC; Ex ia IIC T4 Ga IP66/67, IECEx UL 14.0063, Ex ia IIC T4 Ga IP66/67, DEMKO 14 ATEX 1356, CE European Conformity
Unit Includes:
- Detector complete with specified sensor, stainless steel alligator clip and concussion-proof housing
- Calibration/test cap and hose
- Manual
Regulatory Note: The OSHA PEL for hydrogen sulfide is 20 ppm ceiling (29 CFR 1910.1000, Table Z-2). The BWC2R-H510 default low alarm of 5 ppm provides early warning significantly below the OSHA ceiling, appropriate for environments requiring stricter H2S exposure controls such as wastewater treatment and pulp and paper operations. Employers in confined spaces must comply with 29 CFR 1910.146 atmospheric testing requirements.
Please Note: MM and DD denote the number of months and days left before the gas monitor expires. Once activated, these units cannot be shut down and will continue to run for their two-year life span, prohibiting these items from being shipped because the alarm may be activated during transit. Additionally, these items are unable to be resold after activation.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the BWC2R-H510 differ from the BWC2R-H?
Both are BW Clip Real Time H2S detectors with real-time displays and a 0–100 ppm measuring range. The BWC2R-H has default alarm setpoints of 10 ppm (low) and 15 ppm (high). The BWC2R-H510 uses lower setpoints of 5 ppm (low) and 10 ppm (high), providing earlier warning for applications with stricter H2S exposure limits, such as wastewater treatment or facilities with NIOSH REL-based safety programs.
Does the BWC2R-H510 display real-time H2S readings?
Yes. The BWC2R-H510 includes a digital display showing the actual H2S concentration in real time from 0 to 100 ppm. Workers can monitor ambient H2S levels continuously — not just when alarms trigger — supporting faster response to changing atmospheric conditions in confined spaces, sewers, and industrial work areas.
Can the BWC2R-H510 be calibrated?
Yes. The BWC2R-H510 supports user-initiated calibration using the included calibration cap and hose with an appropriate H2S calibration gas. For automated multi-unit calibration, pair with the BW IntelliDoX DX-CLIP and the REG-DF-1 Demand Flow Regulator.
What alarm setpoints can be configured on the BWC2R-H510?
The BWC2R-H510 supports alarm setpoints within the adjustable range of 1.6 ppm to 20 ppm, configurable via the BW IntelliDoX DX-CLIP. PK Safety's technicians can also pre-configure setpoints before shipment — call 800.829.9580 to discuss fleet configuration requirements.
Is the BWC2R-H510 compatible with the Hibernation Case?
Yes. The BW Clip Hibernation Case CLIPHB-CASE is compatible with the BWC2R-H510. Storing the monitor in the case during non-use periods of one week or more pauses the internal clock and can extend the unit's useful life by up to 12 additional months.
Can PK Safety help configure a BWC2R-H510 fleet?
Yes. PK Safety is a BW Technologies by Honeywell Factory Authorized Service Center. Our specialists can help you establish a complete H2S monitoring program including IntelliDoX fleet management, calibration gas supply, and bump test scheduling.
