BW Clip Real Time 2 Year CO Detector 50-200 ppm BWC2R-M50200

$281.24

Ships in 6 - 8 weeks

Description

The BW Clip Real Time 2-Year CO Detector (BWC2R-M50200) is a lightweight and easy to handle single gas detector for carbon monoxide. Designed for a wide range of harsh environments and extreme temperatures, this monitor has default alarm setpoints at 50 ppm to 200 ppm.

BW Clip Real Time includes a real-time gas level display and the ability to calibrate the device. It provides up to two years of maintenance-free operation: just turn on the device, and it runs continuously. There is no need for sensor replacement and battery charging or replacement.

You can also put the device in a BW Clip Hibernation Case when you're not using it, and extend its life by that period of time — great for turnarounds, short-term projects, and employee leave.

It is based on Surecell and Reflex Technology. Surecell is a unique dual reservoir sensor design that dramatically improves instrument performance, response time, and longevity. Reflex Technology is an advanced automated internal test function that routinely checks the operating condition of the sensor to increase safety, uptime, and overall worker confidence.

Key Features:

  • Default alarm setpoints: 50–200 ppm
  • Alarm setpoints range: 5–200 ppm
  • Measuring range: 0–300 ppm
  • Temperature: -22 to +122°F
  • Humidity: 5%–95% RH (non-condensing)
  • Alarm: visual, vibrating, audible (95 dB), low, high
  • Wide-angle flash, which alerts simultaneously with audible and vibrating alarm
  • Automated self-test of battery, sensor and electronics
  • Automatic logging of the 35 most recent gas events, bump test and calibration results
  • Ingress Protection: IP 66/67
  • Battery life: 2 years
  • Hibernation capable
  • Surecell and Reflex Technology
  • Certifications: Class I, Div. 1, Gr. A, B, C, D, Class I, Zone 0, Gr. IIC; Ex ia IIC T4 Ga IP66/67, IECEx UL 14.0063, Ex ia IIC T4 Ga IP66/67, DEMKO 14 ATEX 1356, CE European Conformity

Unit Includes:

  • Detector complete with specified sensor, stainless steel alligator clip and concussion-proof housing
  • Calibration/test cap and hose
  • Manual

Regulatory Note: The OSHA PEL for carbon monoxide is 50 ppm (29 CFR 1910.1000, Table Z-1). The BWC2R-M50200's default low alarm of 50 ppm corresponds directly to the OSHA PEL, making it well-suited for programs where the regulatory limit drives setpoint selection. Employers in permit-required confined spaces must comply with 29 CFR 1910.146. The real-time CO display allows workers to observe rising concentrations before alarms trigger.

Please Note: MM and DD denote the number of months and days left before the gas monitor expires. This monitor does not have a digital display of the gas concentration. Once activated, these units cannot be shut down and will continue to run for their two-year life span, prohibiting these items from being shipped because the alarm may be activated during transit. Additionally, these items are unable to be resold after activation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the BWC2R-M50200 and the BWC2R-M?

Both are BW Clip Real Time CO detectors with real-time gas displays and a 0–300 ppm measuring range. The BWC2R-M has default setpoints at 35 ppm (low) and 200 ppm (high), aligning with the NIOSH REL. The BWC2R-M50200 alarms at 50 ppm (low) and 200 ppm (high) — the 50 ppm low matches the OSHA PEL for CO per 29 CFR 1910.1000. Choose based on your site's regulatory requirements and safety program.

Does the BWC2R-M50200 show the CO concentration in real time?

Yes. Unlike the standard BW Clip series, the BW Clip Real Time includes a digital display showing the actual CO reading in real time. This allows workers and supervisors to monitor CO accumulation before alarm thresholds are reached, supporting proactive decision-making in confined spaces and other high-risk environments.

Can I calibrate the BWC2R-M50200?

Yes. The BWC2R-M50200 supports user-initiated calibration using the included calibration cap and hose with appropriate CO calibration gas. For fleet-wide automated calibration, use the BW IntelliDoX DX-CLIP with the REG-DF-1 Demand Flow Regulator and an appropriate calibration gas cylinder.

Is the BWC2R-M50200 rated for hazardous locations?

Yes. The BWC2R-M50200 is certified for Class I, Div. 1, Gr. A, B, C, D; Class I, Zone 0, Gr. IIC; ATEX and IECEx compliance. Its IP 66/67 rating ensures protection against dust and water immersion up to 1 meter. It operates from -22 to +122°F.

Does the BWC2R-M50200 work with the Hibernation Case?

Yes. The BW Clip Hibernation Case CLIPHB-CASE is compatible with the BWC2R-M50200. Place the monitor in the case during periods of non-use lasting one week or more to pause its clock and extend usable life by up to 12 additional months.

Can PK Safety pre-configure alarm setpoints on the BWC2R-M50200?

Yes. As a BW Technologies by Honeywell Factory Authorized Service Center, PK Safety's technicians can configure alarm setpoints on BW Clip Real Time monitors before shipment. We can also assist with fleet setup using the IntelliDoX system. Contact us at 800.829.9580 or visit our BW Calibration Service page.
