According to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), carbon monoxide poisoning is the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in the U.S.  If you work in construction or as an HVAC technician, you need a reliable carbon monoxide meter for a quick and accurate measurement of CO levels and the temperature in order to quickly and safely troubleshoot and repair systems when necessary. The Klein Tools CO Meter is a perfect choice for that. It is an extremely economical, and very reliable tool that will work great in hot and cold environments. Its key features include the electrochemical sensor, a backlit LCD display with CO (0 - 1000 ppm) and temperature (°F/°C) measurements for easy viewing in low-light conditions, and the following audible/visual alarms: user protection with STEL (short-term exposure limit) alarm, low level alarm (35 ppm) and high level alarm (200 ppm).

Learn About the Combustible Gas Leak Detector ET120

Gases are produced by HVAC systems as byproducts of their heating/cooling processes. Heating units create heat via combustion (mixing oil or gas with air). One of the most important tasks of an HVAC worker includes the ability to determine the location of dangerous gas leaks.  A great device by Klein Tools - a Combustible Gas Leak Detector – will help you with that.

This unique tester provides audible and visible alarms when methane, propane, and other combustible gases are detected in the air at very low concentrations, with the detection range from 50 ppm to 10,000 ppm. Its expandable gooseneck increases the sensor’s reach. Its electromechanical sensor lasts for about 7 years. The automatic zero-point calibration is performed at power-up. The auto-power-off feature extends the battery life.

A convenient carrying pouch, a manual, and four AAA batteries are provided for both ET110 and ET120 instruments.

ET110 and ET120 Applications

ET110 and ET120 meters are ideal for use in the environments where the accumulation of CO and combustible gasses is highly possible, such as industrial environments, commercial or residential buildings. Besides HVAC technicians, other professionals like plumbers, electricians, home inspectors, and those who work in buildings that contain natural or propane gas should have gas detectors and know how to use them to ensure their safety. If employees work in an environment where they may be exposed to carbon monoxide (garages, attics, basements, and crawlspaces), Carbon Monoxide gas detectors are required and should always be used.

Working in a field with multiple hazards, it is important to have all the necessary tools available at any time. If you have any questions or need help finding the right gas detection equipment, please feel free to call us at 800-829-9580, or visit us online at pksafety.com.
