Pre-Use Information

- Safety considerations For prevention of clothing ignition during short term and emergency exposure to flame.
- Limitations of use — Flame-Resistant (FR) Garments: Do not use for protection against continuous thermal loads, hot liquids or steam. Do not wear alone for limb/torso protection during structural firefighting. Do not use for chemical protection. Failure to comply with this warning may result in serious injury or death.
- Marking recommendations and restrictions If the end user adds any lettering, trim, emblems, or nametags, etc. to the garment, they must meet the performance requirements of the standard. Do not mark, remove, or write over existing labels.
- Warranty Company guarantees that all garments will be free of workmanship defects resulting from normal wear within two years of the purchase for garments laundered per our instructions. Apparel color shifting or fading is excluded. PK Safety will determine whether a returned garment is to be replaced.

Preparation For Use

- Storage practices Do not store protective clothing in direct light. The strength of flame resistant fabrics can be degraded by exposure to light or fluorescent light and must be protected, either by storing in a shaded area or by covering with a dark material.

We recommend that each company establish its own criteria for regular, routine inspection and subsequent repair or retirement of protective clothing. Visual inspection for worn areas, mechanical damage, improper alterations, improper fit, or contamination with flammable substances may be cause for removal from service, as determined by the end user.

For effective protection, flame-resistant garments should be worn as the outer garment, with sleeves down and secured, shirts tucked into pants, and front closure fully secured.

Refer to NFPA 2113 for proper use information. The user is responsible for determining that the garment is appropriate for the intended use and complies with all laws and regulatory standards.

The user assumes all risks associated with the use of this product. PK Safety shall not be liable for loss, injury, or death arising out of the use of this product.

Flammable contaminants will reduce the thermal protection properties of any flame-resistant garment. Properly caring for your FR clothing can help it continue to perform optimally and last longer.

To ensure you know how to correctly wear, wash and maintain your garments, it is important to carefully follow instructions provided on the manufacturer’s care label. However, there are some basic care requirements that are apply to all FR workwear:

• Wash garments before wearing and after each subsequent wearing
• Wash separately from standard clothing
• Avoid using chlorine bleach
• Ensure clothing is clean and in good repair before each wearing
• Thoroughly remove any oils and flammable contaminants from clothing

If the garment cannot be properly repaired or contaminants cannot be removed, the garment should be retired. The garment should be removed from service and retired after exposure to flame and heat.
