An ideal 6 ft. long self-retracting lanyard (SRL) for mounting to overhead cabs in cherry pickers and on scissor lifts where workers will be operating below the fall clearance thresholds if using standard shock-absorbing lanyards. The body of this single-leg SRL is fixed to the cab of the vehicle while the lifeline attaches easily to the dorsal D-ring of a worker's harness. This provides increased fall protection, suitable for the normal operation of fork-lifts and other types of machinery. Traditional shock-absorbing lanyards have never been compliant on cherry pickers and scissor lifts. Workers raised and lowered in cherry pickers are often below the necessary fall clearance threshold. These workers need to move around at height, but if they use a shock-absorbing lanyard, they are unprotected from a fall until they reach the minimum fall clearance distance. The Nano-Lok from DBI-SALA provides easy mobility while creating a continuous contact point that, in most cases, won't allow a fall of more than 24 inches. Compare this to the 18 feet needed with standard lanyards. Nano-Lok SRLs meet or exceed all ANSI and OSHA fall protection safety standards, including ANSI Z359.1 and ANSI A10.32.
